Expanding you Knowledge
As a PTFS Graduate you will gain Professional Qualifications in the financial services sector. Starting with an introduction to the structure and environment of the financial services industry you will go on to study specialist areas such as Mortgages and Protection. You have the option of studying with one of two examining bodies of which details are below, however whichever you choose you will gain industry recognised qualifications.
PTFS has access to a whole host of study materials to help you, including practise exam papers, online resources and training days of which you can attend. You will also have a clear advantage in gaining these qualifications, as not only are you already immersed in the environment in which the knowledge of the study material is applied, you will also be dealing with relevant issues on a daily basis, and will be working with experienced people who have already taken and passed these exams.

The Chartered Insurance Institute
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is the premier professional organisation for those working in the insurance and financial services industry. Their standard qualifications are broken down into six parts:
CF1 – UK Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics
CF2 – Investment and Risk
CF3 – Financial Protection
CF4 – Retirement Planning
CF5 – Integrated Financial Planning
CF6 – Mortgage Advice
There is no prescribed order in which the units must be taken however it is beneficial to begin with CF1 as this gives a great introduction into the industry, legal concepts, regulations and the Financial Services Authority. For the PTFS Graduate Scheme you would be expected to undertake CF1, CF3 and CF6.
