Company Classic benefit increases
• Non-medically necessary caesarean now covered under normal maternity
benefit
• New medically essential caesarean benefit up to
£10,500/$21,000/€15,750
• New childbirth at home benefit up to £650
We have also
made some changes to our rates, you can find full details of these on
your dedicated intermediary website, IntermediaryWorld.
We understand
that some of your customers may be more affected by these changes than
others, and so
have added further information on our pricing strategy and an in depth
look at how this is affected by today's
global economy.
Expanding our local knowledge
The last 6 months have seen us enter into some new partnerships in
order to strengthen and expand our local knowledge. We are now working
with our sister company Bupa Thailand where we have a dedicated local
pre-authorisation service, to resolve any issues in the native language
and local people to check that claims are appropriate, prior to
submission. We are also working with Bupa Malta, so that our members
now have access to the local Bupa Malta provider network and their
existing contract prices. We have also been successfully working with
Medilink in Kenya, giving our members access to a network of over 100
doctors and medical providers who have agreed to charge within set fee
guidelines.
Expanding our Customer Experience surveys
In 2009 we received over 16,000 customer responses to our surveys and
have been able to implement some changes, based on feedback we
received. Our members were asking for more hospitals that would settle
their bills directly with us, so we have now added an additional 2000
medical facilities to our network! Later this year we shall be
expanding this survey to include our group secretaries. Ultimately,
this should enhance their experience with us, drive positive word of
mouth recommendations, and facilitate new business growth. Watch out

Expanding our silverware
Thanks to your votes at the annual Health Insurance Awards 2009, we
have now added Best
International Medical Insurance Provider to our trophy
cabinet. These awards are voted for solely by distributors, so your
input means a lot. We have also been voted Best International Healthcare Provider
by the readers of Investment International in their annual awards, for
our successes in providing International Health Insurance.
Advice and support around the clock
Don't forget, your members' cover entitles them to assistance from our
medical centre, whenever, and wherever they need us. They can call with
a health-related question or concern, and our knowledgeable team will
refer them to medical experts and local facilities around the globe,
where needed.
The medical
team will handle their case from start to finish; ensuring that they
can always talk to someone who understands their situation and can give
them the support and advice they require.
